The 2018 Honda Odyssey had a total redesign that makes the old model look like a thing of past.

The complete redesign saw a change to acceleration, as well as the addition of a list of family-friendly technology that includes an easy-to-use infotainment system. We’re here to help you figure out which 2018 Honda Odyssey is right for your family.

LX

The LX starts at $29,990 and is equipped with a V6 engine that gives the driver up to 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. The LX may be the base trim, but it comes with safety features that parents will love, including Vehicle Stability Assist (to help drivers remain in control) and multi-angle rearview camera.

The inside has comfort and convenience features that make the LX easier and more fun to drive than previous models. Some of the highlights include Push Button Start, Bluetooth connectivity, SMS Text Message Function, and seven 160-watt speakers with a subwoofer.

EX

At $33,860, the EX is the choice if you’re really concerned about safety. This 2018 Honda Odyssey trim has the same safety features as the LX, plus dynamic guidelines on the rearview camera and the Honda Sensing safety suite.

Honda Sensing is a great addition because it includes a Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation System, Forward Collision warnings, and Lane Departure Warnings. The EX also comes with the added safety of the Blind Spot Information System.

The inside includes a lot more features for audio and connectivity like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM Radio, and HD Radio. All your apps and information can be accessed with an eight-inch display with high resolution and touch-screen controls. Finally, the EX introduces power sliding doors, making it easier for adults and children to hop into the cabin.

EX-L

The EX-L starts at $37,360 and includes a few more features that may make it more appealing for some parents. The standout is programmable tailgate height so you can customize it for your preferred accessibility and reach. Some other features include a HomeLink Remote System, an automatic-dimming rearview mirror, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. To further make the EX-L a little more luxurious, the interior has leather-trimmed seats on the front and outboard second-row. You’ll be a stylish parent in the EX-L, for sure.

Touring

The Touring starts at $44,510 and immediately sets itself apart from the other trims by removing the 9-speed automatic transmission in favor of a 10-speed automatic transmission. Having more gears allows for better gear ratio and optimal engine operation. In short, you’ll have more comfort while driving and less strain on the engine when you step on the gas. Thankfully, the fuel economy remains the same as the previous trims.

The Touring also has a few other upgrades that increase convenience and comfort, like parking sensors in the front and rear and hands-free access to the power tailgate. Parents, specifically, will love the addition of HondaVAC, allowing you to clean up little messes your kids may leave behind. No worries with the Touring!

Elite

Naturally, the Elite will be the most luxurious and most expensive option. It starts at $46,670 and is definitely worth the money. Drivers will be happy to know that the Elite uses acoustic glass on the windshield, front doors, and sliding doors to greatly reduce the noise of the outside world. That also makes this trim perfect for someone who frequently travels on the highway.

Additionally, the Elite has heated and ventilated front seats, so you and your passenger are comfortable in any weather. Finally, the Elite has a 550-watt premium audio system with 11 speakers including a subwoofer. You don’t even have to worry about your phone dying from constant streaming, either. The 2018 Honda Odyssey Elite has a wireless phone charger.
