For years, the Toyota Camry has remained one of the most reliable and fun sedans on the market. Offering great performance, a comfortable interior and more high-tech features than ever before, this is the finest Camry yet.

Toyota Camry Trims

With five trims and ten configurations, the 2019 Toyota Camry has a model to fit every budget and need. Now the real question is which trim is going to be the best investment for you?

L

At $23,945, the 2019 Toyota Camry L is the least expensive option, making it an excellent choice for the budget-conscious car buyer. It features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and gives the driver up to 29 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway. That’s some of the best gas mileage on the market without upgrading to a hybrid.

If you’re concerned about features on the inside, the Camry L comes with Entune 3.0 Audio and a 7-inch touchscreen display. This includes Bluetooth wireless technology, an auxiliary audio jack, and voice recognition. Music is played through six speakers located throughout the cabin. This trim also comes standard with an integrated backup camera with a projected path to help you back into the smallest of spaces.

Finally, for safety, the Toyota Camry L uses a safety star system. This includes enhanced vehicle stability control, traction control, four-wheel anti-lock brake system, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, and smart stop technology.

LE

The 2019 Toyota Camry LE doesn’t cost much more than the Camry L. It has a starting MSRP of $24,450. The biggest difference is that there is an anti-theft system, which can help protect your investment. Further upgrades include the addition of an eight-way adjustable driver’s seat and a six-way adjustable passenger’s seat. Plus, there are two rear cup holders to accompany the two in the front. While additional cupholders may seem like small inclusions, they are the difference between having a comfortable road trip and a stained backseat.

If you want more features and something more environmentally friendly, the Camry LE also has a hybrid offering that costs $28,250. The Camry Hybrid LE adds heated front seating and a Smart Key system, but what really stands out are the safety features. The Camry Hybrid LE has collision sensors, which deactivate the battery in the event of a crash. This model also features full-speed-range dynamic-radar cruise control. As for gas mileage, the EPA rates the hybrid model at 51 mpg in the city and 53 mpg on the highway. Those are some of the best ratings of any vehicle on the market.

SE

The 2019 Toyota Camry SE starts at $25,650 and has a bit of a sportier feel when compared to the Camry LE. It has some cosmetic changes, but drivers can feel the biggest difference in the cabin. Toyota crafted the seats with Sport SofTex fabric. This synthetic leather is soft to the touch while reflecting the sun to reduce heat in the summer months. Because the Camry SE uses the same engine as the Camry LE, it has the same fuel economy.

If you love the Camry SE but wish you could get better gas mileage, you can upgrade to the 2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid SE for $29,950. The fuel economy for the Camry Hybrid SE is rated at 44 mpg in the city and 47 mpg on the highway. While it keeps all the upgrades found on the non-hybrid model, the Camry Hybrid SE also has an added tire-pressure monitoring system.

XLE

The 2019 Toyota Camry XLE starts at $29,025 and is much more luxurious than previous trims. Drivers may immediately notice the addition of heated, leather seating along with Tiger Eye wood trim. The backup camera improves thanks to the addition of dynamic guidelines, which predict where you’ll end up. The Camry XLE is the first non-hybrid trim that introduces a Smart Key system. The standard engine on this trim is a 2.5L 4-cylinder.

The Camry XLE also has two other engine options including a hybrid and a V6 offering. These are marketed as two separate named models. Let’s focus on the former first. The 2019 Camry Hybrid XLE increases the price to $32,825 but comes with the addition of a standard blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alerts. The Camry Hybrid XLE fuel economy is estimated at 44 mpg in the city and 47 mpg on the highway.

The third and final engine offering on this trim is a V6. Conveniently named the 2019 Camry XLE V6, it starts at $34,150. This is perfect for the driver who wants a little more power. It comes with a 3.5L V6 that’s capable of 301 horsepower and 267 lb.-ft. of torque. The gas mileage does drop to an estimated 22 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway, however. The Camry XLE V6 comes with other cosmetic changes which make it look a little sportier. This trim also includes a panoramic glass roof with a power tilt/slide moonroof.

XSE

The 2019 Toyota Camry XSE starts at $29,575 and looks very similar to the Camry XLE. It comes with a standard 2.5-liter Dynamic Force engine that’s capable of 206 horsepower and 186 lb.-ft of torque. That’s only a mere three horsepower more than the XLE. The body also has exterior changes, which give it a sporty feel. These include the addition of LED taillights with smoke tint, a gloss-black grille with sport mesh insert, and color-keyed sport side rocker panels.

If you want more power, the Camry XSE also has a V6 model, which starts at $34,700. This drops the gas mileage to an estimated 22 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. Conversely, horsepower increases to 301 with 267 lb.-ft. of torque. The 2019 Camry XSE V6 also comes with a panoramic glass room with power tilt and slide.
