The Best Features of the 2020 Buick Envision
The market for small luxury SUVs is saturated with competition. From the Jaguar E-Pace to the Acura RDX, you’d have plenty of options to choose from. But having all of these different options at all of these different price ranges can make your head spin. That’s why it’s good to pick one and focus on it.
Right now, we’ll concentrate on Buick’s 2020 Envision. The 2020 Buick Envision is a car that comes loaded with luxury amenities for a fraction of its competitors. If you’re looking for a small luxury SUV, then you might want to take a look at this one.
The Basics
The 2020 Envision base trim starts at just under $32,000 with five seats and 57.3 cubic ft of cargo capacity. It gets up to 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway, which may not be overtly enticing, but it makes up for the poor mpg.
2019 was the year for the Envisions major model refresh, so the new 2020 model won’t offer very many significant changes. Edmunds praises the 2020 Envision for its quiet interior on the highway, a comfortable ride in equally comfortable seats, and a range of infotainment options. Kelley Blue Book even considers the Envision’s infotainment system to be one of the best on the market. The Envision totes a super comfy and quiet cabin and is seen as classier than other mainstream alternatives at the same price.
What’s It Got?
The Envision is a compact crossover SUV with a grand total of five different trim levels. Starting with the base 1SV Envision Trim before moving up to the Preferred, Essence, Premium, and Premium II trims, all of these have a set of standard features. The standard features for the 2020 Buick Envision include 18-inch wheels, xenon headlights, foglights, auto-dimming, heated mirrors, a hands-free liftgate with adjustable opening heights, rear parking sensors, keyless ignition and entry, remote start, dual-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable and heated front seats, four USB ports, and a six-speaker sound system.
If you’re not sure which trim you’re looking for, Edmunds recommends the Premium and Premium II trims because of the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine’s power and drivability. Still stuck between those two? Edmunds will ultimately recommend the Premium II because of its available adaptive cruise control, standard upgraded audio system, navigation, a head-up display, and a wireless charging pad.
The Downsides
This car does have some downsides, though. Edmunds ranked it low on their Miles per Gallon score (just 5 out of 10), and they claimed it wasn’t’ fun to drive. The interior of the Envision is considered lackluster in design, and large pillars compromise visibility. Not to mention, if you’re looking for top tier content and extra’s, then you’re going to have to pay that extra bit to get it.
Final Ratings
Ultimately, the Envision will start at $31,995 before climbing up to about $43,600 for the top tier models. Edmund’s gives the 2020 Envision an overall rating of 7.2 out 10, and it scores highest in the Infotainment and Automation and Comfort on the Road categories with a solid 8 out of 10.
