2021 Buick Enclave: A Trim Comparison

2021 buick enclave

The 2021 Buick Enclave is one of the best luxury SUVs on the market. Offering outstanding features, superb engine options and top-notch safety, there are few better options for families in need of a utility vehicle.

Choosing an Enclave Trim Level

All four options for the 2021 Buick Enclave give you Buick’s trademark luxury—only to differing degrees. The one you choose could have a big impact on your daily drive, not to mention your wallet. From a better entertainment package to heated and cooled seats, this detailed guide will help you decide which trim level is best for your lifestyle.

Preferred

The Preferred has a starting MSRP of $41,495 and has plenty to offer. Its 3.6L V6 SIDI VVT engine gives it 310hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. It has automatic on-off headlights, as well as LED daytime running lamps.

The 2019 model brought a more upscale feel but also 10% more cargo space – that is retained here with the 2021 model. This makes it easier to load cargo and fold the second and third rows flat. There is also 3.1 cubic feet of room in the new 10-inch-deep underfloor storage bin.

The interior is also packed with features that make this trim great for the price point. Buyers find heated, six-way power-adjustable front seating and enough room inside for seven passengers. The entertainment system includes a USB port and Buick’s standard audio system. It also includes Buick’s infotainment system which has Bluetooth connectivity, an eight-inch color touchscreen, SiriusXM radio, CD player, MP3 playback, and an auxiliary input jack. Standard with the Enclave is Apple Carplay and Android Auto, which allow your phone to connect for easier music and maps. There’s also a built-in 4G LTE WiFi hotspot.

It’s easy to keep passengers safe in the Buick Enclave thanks to the automatic occupant sensing system which lets you know if passengers don’t put on their seatbelts. The Enclave also includes remote keyless entry, a remote vehicle starter system, and rear parking camera assist with audible warnings.

Essence

The Essence has a starting MSRP of $43,495 and comes with everything the Enclave has and more. Most of the changes show up in the interior, putting the emphasis on safety with the addition of the Driver Confidence Package. This package gives drivers lane change alerts with side blind spot alerts. It also includes rear cross-traffic alerts. If you’re looking for more features to keep you and your passengers safe, you can add a full surround view and a rear camera mirror at an extra cost. For an extra $1,395, you can get the Sound and Sites package that includes navigation and a 10-speaker Bose audio system.

Premium

The 2021 Buick Enclave Premium has everything an SUV owner could want in a vehicle. On the exterior, the Premium adds IntelliBeam headlamps, which automatically dims vehicle headlamps that are in high beam mode when oncoming traffic is detected. The Premium also includes outside heated power-adjustable and power-folding side mirrors with turn signal indicators.

On the inside, the entertainment system also sees a significant upgrade with the addition of a Bose performance-enhanced premium 10-speaker system. This includes active noise cancellation, which reduces unwanted low frequencies created by the engine, transmission, and other powertrain components. All music will sound better thanks to the amp and subwoofer that increase quality substantially.

Finally, this trim comes with the Driver Confidence Plus Package, which includes lane keep assist with lane departure warning, safety alert seat, front and rear park assist, forward collision alert, and following distance indicator. You can get all this for $49,595.

Avenir

The newest addition to the 2021 Enclave lineup is the Avenir, which starts at $55,295. Nothing says luxury as much as the new Avenir special package. This package adds exclusive chestnut and ebony interior seat stitching and piping. Drivers may also notice the Avenir embroidered headrests and floor mats. Along with the premium film decor accents, this trim also has a real mahogany wood steering wheel.

The Avenir also has several convenience and infotainment additions that make it much more enjoyable to drive. Some of these include wireless phone charging, power dual moonroof with rear fixed skylight, an 8-inch configurable driver information center, surround vision with rear camera mirror, and integrated navigation.
