2022 GMC Acadia: A Trim Comparison

The 2022 GMC Acadia may look like your typical SUV, but it’s so much more. It has a ton of cargo space for families and enough room for up to seven passengers. It can get confusing with all the trims, but we’re helping you figure out which GMC Acadia is right for you. As a side note, the Acadia comes in both front- and all-wheel-drive. Here we’ll be using the pricing from the FWD options. If opting for AWD, expect to pay an additional surcharge on top of the listed MSRP.

GMC Acadia Trim Changes

The 2022 GMC Acadia trim lineup remains mostly unchanged from the 2021 models. However, the base SL trim has been dropped this year and the new base trim is the SLE trim. Another change is that the four-cylinder engine has been dropped.

SLE

The GMC Acadia SLE trim starts at $34,800. Its standard features include tri-zone climate control, a GMC infotainment system with 8-inch touchscreen and a six-speaker audio system,  along with features such as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, satellite radio and a Wi-Fi hotspot. This trim comes withsafety features such as forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking and a teen driver monitoring system. A rearview backup camera is also included of course.

Additional upgrades are available in packages – such as the Driver Convenience package and Infotainment package. rear-seat entertainment and wireless device charging can be purchased separately.

Under the hood is pretty impressive for a base model. Finally, the vehicle has enough power to get you through the day, thanks to a 228-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. This is combined with a nine-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive for a smooth drive. However, if you ar willing to put down another $2,300, you can opt for the superior all-wheel-drive.

SLT

The 2022 GMC Acadia SLT allows for premium entertainment and superior comfort features, which could make a long drive more enjoyable. One of the highlights of the SLT is a Bose premium eight-speaker entertainment system. Additions for this trim include leather upholstery, heated from seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and navigation.

Additionally, packages are available such as the Preferred package with ventilated seats, heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel – for $995. A Technology package, for $1,000, offers a surround-view parking camera and a heads-up display. For $1,400, the SLT allows you to purchase individual additions like a dual-pane sunroof, rear-seat entertainment and wireless device charging.

AT4

The GMC Acadia ATA starts at $41,400 and is a newer trim offering introduced in 2020. It is designed for those people who need more power from their SUV. It comes standard with a 3.6-liter V6 SIDI DOHC engine with Variable Valve Timing, producing 310 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque.  In addition to the stronger engine, it also comes with all-wheel-drive, and hill descent control. Premium cloth upholstery is also standard with this trim.

Denali

Every manufacturer has a trim that is the best-of-the-best. The Denali level is just that for GMC vehicles. The Denali trim is the epitome of GMC engineering because it has power, entertainment, and comfort features that will make you search for reasons to drive. This trim comes with the same powerful 3.6-liter engine as the AT4, and a ton of other features. You’ll get leather upholstery, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, wireless device charging and heads-up display.

A unique offering for this trim is the Denali Technology package with a surround-view parking camera, and adaptive cruise control. Then there’s the Denali Ultimate package with sunroof. The Denali starts at $46,300 but with these optional packages, you can expect to pay a little more. Some extra features are available for purchase individually.
