2022 Mini Cooper: A Trim Comparison

Mini Coopers are known for their unique European styling, compact dimensions, and innumerable customizable options. Just to start with, there are 12 different body colors to choose from! And that’s before you take into account the various roof and mirror color variations. And racing stripes, and Union Jack paint jobs, and…well, we could go on.

Mini Cooper Trims

The 2022 Mini Cooper has six trim levels to choose from. We’ll be discussing the different trims buyers can choose from, so you can determine the best options for your needs and budget.

Mini Cooper Oxford Edition

The Mini Cooper Oxford Edition is a value option for car buyers. This model was previously only available for students and military, but given the economic climate, they are now offering it to just about everyone else too. Starting at $19,750, you can get the two-door hardtop, or for $1K more, the four-door hardtop. And if you are thinking this is a totally barebones model – you’d be wrong. This trim comes with a an 8.8.-inch display infotainment system with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay support, a digital instrument cluster, lane departure warning, and frontal collision warning.

Classic

The 2022 Mini Cope Classic is offered in a number of variants. The two-door Hardtop Classic features the iconic bulging-eye headlights and large smiling grille. It’s this cute design that has owners so enamored with their purchases. At an MSRP of $22,900, buyers have the choice between multiple body color options. Racing stripes and Union Jack mirror caps are optional add-ons.

Standard features include an infotainment system with 8.8-inch display, six-speaker audio, synthetic leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a rear camera with parking sensors, forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, but buyers can upgrade to an automatic.

The Mini Cooper S Hardtop Classic, which starts at $26,900, features a 189-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. Meanwhile, the John Cooper Works Classic, starting at $32,900, features a 228-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.

Signature

The Mini Cooper’s mid-level trim is the Signature, available starting at $26,900 for the two-door hardtop, $27,900 for the four-door hardtop and $31,900 for the convertible. This trims adds seven additional body color options, bringing the total array of choices to a whopping eleven. Besides the car body color, the roof and mirror cap colors can be customized to your liking.

The interior sees a major upgrade from the Mini Cooper Classic trim. A moonroof, heated seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control all come standard at this price point. Buyers will also appreciate the proximitys keyless entry. Even the wheels have an upgrade to a 16-inch alloy set.

Iconic

One of the top of the line Mini Cooper models is the Iconic. The Iconic offers even more options and upgrades. Standard features of this trim level include premium leather upholstery, an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, satellite radio, navigation and 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. Other features include Apple CarPlay and wireless charging. On the exterior, the Mini Cooper Iconic sports LED headlights and taillights, as well as 17-inch alloy wheels.

The Mini Cooper Iconic starts at $30,900.
