2026 Chevrolet Trax: A Trim Comparison
The 2026 Chevrolet Trax continues to deliver on the promise of its recent redesign, with a spacious interior, modern technology, and an affordable price point that remains hard to beat in the subcompact SUV segment.
2026 Chevrolet Trax
The 2026 Chevrolet Trax comes in five trims — LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS, and ACTIV — with front-wheel drive across the entire lineup. Prices have nudged upward from the prior model year, though the Trax remains one of the most competitively priced options in its class. Overall, it still ranks among the best subcompact SUVs on the market.

LS
The base 2026 Chevrolet Trax LS starts at $21,700, and includes an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 17-inch alloy wheels, and the full Chevy Safety Assist suite — forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and lane keep assist with departure warning. Additional standard features include a 4-speaker audio system, push-button start with remote keyless entry, cloth seating surfaces, an HD rear vision camera, Teen Driver, and cruise control.
Note that the optional Driver Confidence and LS Convenience packages from prior model years have been consolidated — blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert is now bundled into upper trims rather than offered as a standalone add-on on the LS.
1RS
The 1RS builds on the LS with sport-focused visual upgrades, including 18-inch dark-finished wheels, black exterior trim, a sport-styled body kit, and red accent stitching in the interior. RS badging and black accents give the Trax a standout, more aggressive presence. It starts at $23,100. A sunroof remains an available option on this trim.
LT
The LT starts at the same price as the 1RS but is widely considered the better value, delivering the larger 11-inch touchscreen, remote start, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, a six-speaker sound system, and push-button start. It also adds heated front seats and a digital instrument cluster over the base LS.

For 2026, a new Midnight Edition package is available on the LT, adding high-gloss black mirror caps, grille bar, roof rails, wheels, bowties, and badging for a blacked-out appearance. Wireless device charging and a sunroof are also optionally available.
2RS
The 2RS gives you the sporty styling of the 1RS with significant interior upgrades, including Jet Black Evotex seating with red accents and an eight-way power driver’s seat with two-way power lumbar support. It also adds ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a 19-inch wheel-and-tire package. The 2RS starts at $25,300.
ACTIV

The ACTIV is priced the same as the 2RS at $25,300 but takes a different direction — where the 2RS leans sporty, the ACTIV leans toward a tougher, more outdoor-ready aesthetic. It shares the same core feature set as the 2RS, with trim-specific exterior styling cues that distinguish it from the RS models.
Performance
All 2026 Trax models are powered by a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine producing 137 horsepower, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. Fuel economy comes in at 28 mpg city and 32 mpg highway. The engine won’t win any stoplight races, but it’s smooth and well-suited to daily commuting and city driving. If you’re after weekend thrills, you’ll want to look elsewhere — but as a practical, efficient everyday vehicle, the 2026 Trax continues to deliver solid value.
