2023 Audi Q5: A Trim Comparison
Last update:
November 6, 2023
Following a 2018 redesign, the Audi Q5 has undergone some decent upgrades over the past few model years. But the 2023 Q5 doesn’t need to be completely redesigned to compete with the other vehicles in its segment. It more than holds its own against the competition (like the Acura RDX), to remain at the top of the luxury compact crossover list.
Deciding on an Audi Q5 Trim
Which trim is the best bang for your buck? We take a deep-dive into each one, showing you what’s standard and what’s additional. It may only have three trim levels to choose from, but these offerings are full of safety features and amenities you are sure to love. It’s worth noting that this year the Q5 comes standard with adaptive cruise control.
Premium
The 2023 Audi Q5 Premium is the base-level trim with a starting MSRP of $43,500. It features the standard 2.0-liter turbocharged 40 TFSI engine and Quattro all-wheel-drive. The engine is capable of 201hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. The EPA rated fuel economy at 23 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. There’s also an option for a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor that should deliver up to 362 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, as well as an improved fuel economy.
When it comes to features the Q5 Premium has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities, as well as Audi connect CARE. This suite of assistance and security services includes SOS calls, online roadside assistance, and also stolen vehicle location. The vehicle also features tri-zone climate control, a 10.1-inch touch screen, and leather upholstery. Standard safety offerings include Audi’s pre sense basic and pre sense city technology. These include forward-collision warnings and braking assistance, as well as other preventative measures to keep occupants safe in the event of an impending crash. Adaptive cruise control comes standard with this base trim.
Premium Plus
The 2023 Audi Q5 Premium Plus is the middle-tier trim level. At a starting MSRP of $49,000, the Q5 Premium has the same engine and AWD of the previous trim. Standard upgrades include a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel and adaptive cruise control. Additionally, passengers will appreciate a standard surround-view parking camera system. Upfront for the driver are a standard Audi virtual cockpit and a panoramic sunroof. Furthermore, safety features are enhanced to include traffic jam assist and lane keep assist.
Prestige
Lastly, the 2023 Audi Q5 Prestige is the top-of-the-line trim. It includes all of the safety and luxury features you would expect in a modern luxury compact crossover. The ventilated front sport seats with four-way power lumbar adjustments will take the headache out of commuting to work. Plus, Matrix-design LED headlights, traffic sign recognition, and a heads-up display are also welcome additions. Without taking your eyes off the road, you will be able to see warning messages, speed limits, and your speed.
A 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system is a perfectly tuned 755-watt audio system with a 16-channel amplifier, and 3D sound. The starting MSRP for the Q5 Prestige is $54,500. However, there is also a 45 TFSI for $57,000 and the Sportback for $59,400, a 55 TFSI Plug-In Hybrid for $65,300, the SQ5 SUV for $65,700 and the Sportback for that model is $68,100.
Additional Packages & Option
Once buyers choose their preferred trim, they have the option of purchasing additional packages and options. We will mention three specific ones because they include features that many buyers may have been expecting or seen as standard offerings on other vehicles.
First, the Convenience Package is strictly for, well, your convenience! It offers features like proximity keyless entry, auto-dimming and power-folding mirrors, satellite radio, a sunroof, driver’s seat memory settings, and a heated steering wheel.
Next, buyers can opt for a Warm Weather Package. This changes the seat design to a sport-style while also adding ventilation. It is possible to add on Nappa leather upholstery to the same vehicle. They aren’t exclusionary; though, this extra cost seems a bit high to us, even with the change in seat style.
On top of those packages, there’s the S Sport Package, which adds sports suspension and brakes. But these are just some of the options available for the 2023 Audi Q5.
